Shiny Mommy is written by Amy M. Young about her adventures in parenting her daughter, known as Kidlet/Little Miss.
Amy was diagnosed in her late teens with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – Predominantly Inattentive. She has called this her “shiny things” disorder, as shiny things like technology, wildlife out the window and even ideas can distract her. But this also allows her to make creative leaps that other people, broadly referred to as neurotypical, wouldn’t.
Kidlet was diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum in 2019, and the new adventures in learning how to make life as fulfilling as possible for everyone began anew.
